We are reading reports that Al Qaeda fighters are joining forces with Libyan rebels. At the same time, the United States is assisting the rebels against Gaddafi. So while this is certainly a complex issue, it would appear that Al Qaeda is fighting on the same side as the United States. If Gaddafi is bad and the rebels are good, why is Al Qaeda helping the rebels and what are they hoping to gain if we are all successful at overthrowing Gaddafi?
