Crowdfunding in the United States is a hot topic as politicians position reduced barriers to raising investment capital while regulators need to deal with establishing rules and regulations for an orderly market while minimizing fraud. Financial fraud is prevalent present now and crowdfunding would increase the incidence of fraud, but while politicians and regulators spar; they seem not to realize that the benefits of having more business financed at lower costs can spur entrepreneurship and lead to significant job creation. The benefits of crowdfunding would far exceed the drawbacks of more fraud. An easy solution: ensure that those who violate laws are pursued, prosecuted and spend as much of their life viewing the sky from behind bars. If the penalties are meaningful and examples are put for public display, crooks just may think twice before engaging in dishonest activities.
Occupy Wall Street and Anti-Semetism
Once upon a time, there was a movement to protest economic depression and blame a small group of people as a means to lift the spirits of the masses. No, we are not talking about the “Occupy Wall Street” protests. We are talking about the Nazi party which started oh so similarly.
Let us not forget history to prevent it from happening again. Watch:
Hitler capitalized on economic chaos to gain power and ultimately murder an estimated ten million people. He targeted Jews first, but then went after people who were gay, lesbian, black and basically anything that wasn’t white or stood in his way of world domination.
People say that there’s a huge difference between then and now. While Occupy Wall Street and similar efforts to blame Jews for today’s economic problems may not lead to another Holocaust; those with any sense of decency and humanity should be a voice of reason and be aware how history often repeats – to ensure it doesn’t.
The Kindle Tablet might not kill the Apple iPod, but will it hurt Netflix?
Amazon.com is rumored to be close to announcing a Kindle Tablet called the “Kindle Fire.” While many people have been talking about how this could be an ipod killer (we don’t think it will be), the Kindle Tablet might cause more headache for Netflix. Industry sources have indicated the Kindle Fire will come with one year of Prime service for free; which allows for streaming of videos. Given the strength and connections of Amazon.com, we believe their tablet might pose more threat to Netflix than Apple. For now.
